The Mobilx Vipers are delighted to announce a new two year title sponsorship deal with Newcastle based computer components distributor, Mobilx. The two year extension to the present deal, will run until the end of the 2008-09 season.
In addition, a new charity has been launched in the North East of England that aims to promote healthy living and sports participation at a time that child obesity and lifestyle options are one of the most talked about topics.

The newly sponsored Mobilx Vipers Community Foundation, aims to use key members of the Mobilx Vipers professional Ice Hockey team as role models to develop links with children from local communities throughout the North East of England to encourage sporting participation and healthy lifestyles whilst improving provision of sports education within schools and tackling important issues such as child obesity, diabetes and coronary heart disease.
“To sign not one but two sponsorship deals with Mobilx is a sign of how committed Steven Bell and Mobilx are to the development of Ice Hockey in the region" said Mobilx Vipers General Manager Jaimie Longmuir.
Steven Bell, Managing Director of Mobilx, commented on his renewed affiliation with the Vipers by saying: “Since becoming a sponsor of the Vipers in 2005, the club went on to win the 2006 Elite League play-off final, however the work off the ice and in the communities has been just as important."
Since September 2006, the Mobilx Vipers Community Foundation has worked with over 8,000 children and 40 schools in the region, and now with the backing of Mobilx, is looking to expand its community work.
“Community activities are an important initiative for this club,” said Mobilx Vipers General Manager Jaimie Longmuir. “Our aim is to tackle key health and social aspects of life whilst increasing sporting participation and developing home grown Ice Hockey players for the future, and we are grateful to Mobilx for their support of the scheme.”

“We are now in a position to develop both junior Ice Hockey through the Mobilx Vipers Community Foundation as well as professional Ice Hockey with the Mobilx Vipers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Steven Bell and Mobilx for their continued support.”
Mobilx Managing Director Steven Bell commented: “With the continued work in the community the Vipers are tackling key health and social issues whilst developing home grown Ice Hockey players for the future and I am happy to pledge Mobilx’s continued support towards the scheme".
The Mobilx Vipers Community Foundation is a registered charity, registered with the Charity Commission under Registered Charity Number 1118129.
