01st March 2007 |
It's a double reason to celebrate for the Mobilx Vipers after the Club’s inaugural Gentleman’s Evening at St. James’ Park that officially launched the Vipers Community Foundation.
Not only was the event for the 2006 Elite Ice-Hockey League Play-Off Champions a 200 guest sell out, but the Club’s community programme, the Vipers Community Foundation was awarded official charity status by the Charity Commission.

“This is a fantastic day for the Mobilx Vipers and illustrates the strides that the Club has made so far this season.” says Vipers General Manager, Jaimie Longmuir.
“Community Involvement is of utmost importance to the Vipers and the launch of the Vipers Community Foundation gives us a vehicle to bridge the gap between the Club and communities throughout the North East.”
The Vipers Community Foundation aims to develop links with children throughout the North East and aims to increase sporting participation and promote healthy living.
The programme has been running since September 2006 and has worked with 5,000 children in over 40 schools in only 4 months.
Last nights Gentleman’s Evening is the first of many events the Vipers hope will raise the profile of the Vipers Community Foundation whilst ensuring its long term success.
The Mobilx Vipers Community Foundation is a registered charity, registered with the Charity Commission under Registered Charity Number 1118129.
