The Junior Development Programme (JDP) is a structured ice hockey training club with regular training and matches which offers participants an opportunity to participate in a healthy activity, learn new skills and encourage social interaction whilst providing life skills. The objectives of the JDP are noted:
- Provide opportunity for participants to become involved in ice hockey via specific activities which encourage participation
- Increase the number of participants involved in ice hockey throughout the North East
- Provide a safe and controlled environment for participants to have fun whilst learning
- Provide organisation and structure where participants receive top quality coaching
- Provide financial support to ensure the long term future of the Junior Hockey Club
Our proposal will provide the JDP with an opportunity to generate interest, boost membership and assist its long term sustainability whilst operating as a perfect exit route from the school program
The JDP currently operates with 7 teams the Under 10's, Under 12's, Under 14's, Under 16's, Under 19's, Vipers Reserves, and Lady Vipers. The club co-ordinated by ex Whitley Warriors Peter Winn who is also head coach of the Vipers Reserves. |
